KitPackers was founded in the early 1970s in Minneapolis, MN and then purchased by Ellsworth Adhesives in 1984. To further the efficiencies of the two companies it was moved to Germantown, WI, a Milwaukee suburb, in 1987.
In 1994, KitPackers combined operations with Resinlab, another unit of Ellsworth Adhesives and moved into a new facility on Morse Drive in the Germantown Industrial Park. This new Morse Drive facility was built adjacent to Ellsworth Adhesives facility on Fulton Drive. These three companies complimented each other tremendously, as KitPackers provided custom resin packaging, Resinlab formulated and blended resins, and Ellsworth Adhesives distributed these products together with a complete line of specialty chemicals from other major manufacturers.
The result of this synergy was rapid growth that necessitated the need for more space for all three companies. In 2003, Ellsworth Adhesives moved to a new 85,000 sq. ft. World Headquarters and Distribution Center in a new Germantown business park less than 5 miles east. This made the Fulton Drive facility available for KitPackers to renovate, and move its packaging operation from the facility shared with Resinlab on Morse Drive. This allowed KitPackers to quadruple its manufacturing space, purchase new state of the art packaging equipment and improve overall efficiencies.
KitPackers' close affiliation with Resinlab provides us access to an extensive lab staffed by expert chemists. This relationship helps us provide the best technical support in the industry. Additionally, Resinlabs mixing and blending capabilities augments KitPackers ability to offer custom modifications and blends in various batch sizes.
The majority of KitPackers packaging services are sold through the Ellsworth Adhesives worldwide network of Engineered Sales Representatives throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
